I like exploring complex systems, understanding what makes them tick, then using this understanding to improve and scale them. This is the thread that pulled me from my time as a math professor, through data science, to my current role as head of Data Science and Data Engineering at Dewpoint Therapeutics, an R&D-stage biotech startup.
It turns out a biotech organization is a complex system that often faces a recurring struggle: how to balance flexibility and experimentation required for innovation against structure and consistency needed to scale.
My goal is to find ways to scale biotech research platforms through better software and organizational design.
As I work towards figuring this out, I’ll share what I learn here and in my weekly newsletter.
